Have you attended the Fantasmic show
at Disneyland? If so, how did you like it and would you
recommend others to see this show? If you have seen both
the Disney World and Disneyland versions of Fantasmic
which did you like better? Do you have a favorite viewing
spot for Fantasmic at the Disneyland park?

Fantasmic! has to be one of the greatest shows ever
performed. I would
definitely recommend it to anyone. While I haven't seen the
WDW in person, I have watched videos of it and have
concluded the Disneyland version is far superior.
Noteworthy aspects are the Columbia (versus Pocahontas and
the canoes), the Mark Twain (versus the dinky "Steam Boat
Willy"), and the surrounding area (versus the stadium
seating, which is more comfortable, I'm sure, but not very
thematic!). I do have a favorite spot picked out, but it's
a secret spot where nobody sits and you get the best view;
so I can't tell you! ;-)

Okay, I've got to be a total freak--I read everywhere
that Fantasmic was the one show to see, so I stood in place
for hours to save a spot. We got very friendly with our
neighbors, which was cool, but by the time the show started
we were in a one foot square spot, crowded on both sides,
and we just weren't very excited by the show. Maybe we just
couldn't see very well, maybe if we'd had a better view it
would have been more thrilling, but I just didn't find it
very interesting. It's probably me, because fireworks
aren't that exciting for me either. My daughter loves
fireworks, but she wasn't that thrilled, either. Five
minutes into the show, both kids wanted to leave. I
probably passed on my defective genes. :) I don't know if
we're going to bother with Fantasmic this time, but if we
do we're going to try something different! Maybe we'll pay
for the buffet.

We've seen the Disneyland Fantasmic show many times and
the Disney World one once. I like the DL one better
(although I like the stadium at MGM). The show holds
together better, better dragon, better boats, etc. The MGM
one has that long pointless Pocahontas segment and the lame
paddlewheeler at the end. Plus the Columbia segment at DL
with Peter Pan is the best.

If I had my choice between seeing Fantasmic or the
Fireworks...I'd take the fireworks. I had a similar
experience as Dawn. Fantasmic was a must see. It got very
late and I was tired and this was December so it was cold
(for California...and me with no coat) AND we had to sit on
the cement and we were close enough that the water sprayed
on us which made us colder. I think if I hadn't been so
cold and physically uncomfortable, I would have liked it
much better. Bleachers would be a major PLUS! but I don't
see how Disneyland has any place to put them. The Peter Pan
bit was COOL though!
